Shot in 31 countries, involving more than 2,500 hours of original and archival footage, COLD WAR documents a conflict that engulfed the entire globe.

Isaacs and series producer Martin Smith enlisted the help of an international team of historians and researchers -- many of whom leapt at the chance to take part in an effort that would include information that has only come to light in recent years.

They also recognized that COLD WAR was an opportunity to bring the era, which coincided with the birth of the television age, to an international, electronic audience.
